(From November 2018 through March 2019, I wrote one poem a day for 100 days at my Facebook page. While I get my act together to return to ranking things, I will be reprinting the poems here. I’m currently writing another 100 poems. Rankings will resume soon)
Facebook offers a paltry choice
Six reacts, none in my voice
I click “love” when I mean “rejoice”
No emoji captures my heart
Tragedy has struck, you need comfort
Your post is long, my time is short
I click “love” to offer my support
No emoji captures my heart
I’m angry about what was said
Instead of mad, I click “love” instead
Because orange sometime looks like red
No emoji captures my heart
Comments are misunderstood
Words can do more harm than good
Smilies mean whatever you would
But no emoji captures my heart
